01

Strategy Overview

Order flow trading reads the raw market data — order book, time and sales, and volume delta — to understand what buyers and sellers are actually doing rather than what price has already done. This gives a real-time edge in identifying momentum shifts before they are visible on candlestick charts.

02

Market Focus

Focused on equity index futures (NQ and ES) where electronic order flow is transparent and institutional activity is concentrated. These markets provide the clearest read of large order absorption and imbalance.

03

Timeframes

Works across 1-minute, 3-minute, and 5-minute charts. Order flow tools like footprint charts and delta bars are used on the 1-minute for entry timing. Structure and bias come from 15-minute and hourly charts.

04

Core Idea

Find areas where buy or sell orders are being absorbed by large participants and enter in the direction of the dominant flow. Delta divergence — where price moves one direction but delta moves the other — signals potential reversals.

05

Market Conditions

Most effective during high-volume sessions with clear directional bias. Avoid ranging, thin-volume markets where order flow signals are inconsistent and noise dominates meaningful signals.

06

Strategy Setups

Setup 1: Delta Exhaustion — large delta divergence at a key level signals a reversal entry. Setup 2: Absorption Setup — heavy sell orders absorbed at support with rising delta indicates institutional buying.

07

Trade Breakdown

Place stop beyond the order flow imbalance zone (3–5 points). Target the next visible volume cluster. Risk 0.5–1% per trade. Manage the trade actively using live delta as a guide for early exits.
